Project: Kowhai Intermediate build and activation for Park(ing) Day

Role: Place-making and community engagement through co-design

Client: Albert-Eden Local Board

Park(ing) Day at  Kowhai Intermediate  funded by Albert Eden Neighbourhood Arts.  Teaching students how to build a place that puts people over cars.  A collaboration between Places for Good, Pallet Kingdom, Kowhai Intermediate Students, Street artist Melissa Samsudin, and sculptor Barbara Grace. Together with Year 8 students we built and transformed a parking spot into a creative place of joy for Park(ing) Day 2019.

Testimonial:

“This feels like the type of thing we should definitely be having more of around here.”
